Statement of Faith
Our Authority
The Holy Scriptures are our authority and ultimate standard for
life and ministry.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the
man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
II Timothy 3:16,17
“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”
John 17:17
Our Teaching
1.
The Bible:
We believe the Bible to be the
inspired, inerrant, and only infallible, authoritative Word of
God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21
2.
God:
We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three
persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19
3.
Creation:
We believe God created the universe out of nothing in six,
twenty-four-hour days; an actual Garden of Eden; and an actual
Adam and Eve, who committed the initial act of sin and caused
the fall of man—a curse under which humanity still abides.
Genesis 1-3; Exodus 20:11; Romans 5:18-19; I Timothy 2:13-14; 2
Peter 3:5
4.
Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of our Lord
Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His
miracles; in His substitutionary and atoning death, and burial;
in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand
of God the Father; and in His personal and bodily return in
power and glory.
John 1:1-14; I Corinthians 15:3-4, 15:55-57; Matthew 1:23;
Romans 10:9; Hebrews 2:9; Hebrews 12:2; John 11:25
5.
Salvation:
We believe that salvation from sin, judgment and eternal
punishment is by grace through faith, and therefore, all those
who place their trust in the completed work of Jesus Christ on
the cross receive the irrevocable gift of eternal
life.
Isaiah 28:16; John 3:16; John 19:30; Romans 11:29; Ephesians
2:8-9
6.
Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit convicts
the unbeliever of his need to trust in Christ, and that He
indwells the believer, enabling him to live a godly life.
John 14:26; John 16:8
7.
Resurrection:
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost.
Those who are saved will be raised to eternal life with God, and
those who are lost will be raised to judgment, punishment and
separation from God for all
eternity.
I Corinthians 15:51-54; Revelation 20:11-15
8.
Church:
We believe that all who are redeemed by Christ are placed into
the Universal Church or Body of Christ. We believe that God
commands believers to gather together into local assemblies for
fellowship, edification and to be a witness to the unbelieving
world.
I Corinthians 12:13; Acts 2:42-47
9.
Future:
We believe in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus
Christ, which initiates a series of events leading to the
establishment of His eternal kingdom.
I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 21:1,22
10.
Ordinances:
We believe there are two ordinances that are commanded by God
for believers after they accept Christ as Savior: Baptism, and
The Lord’s Supper (Communion). These ordinances are of
themselves without merit, but provide an expression of faith and
obedience regarding the believer’s identification and fellowship
with Christ.
Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 11:23-29
